10 Months the 3rd

I am not getting my titles, are you?

Senor Christian! First of all, I call him Senor Christian because in the hospital I would always sing him that Night Ranger song. You know the one. Sister Christian oh the time has come, and you know that you're the only one...to say...ok. But he was a boy, so naturally, I had to swap sister for mister, and sometimes espanol sneaks into my language for no apparent reason. Because I clearly have no idea how to properly use it. So there you go.

The Lion of our Zoo

Christian is 17 lbs and 1 ounce. He is 28 1/2 inches long. He has been crawling for weeks and his favorite activity is climbing anything and everything in his way as well as going out of his way to try and scale whatever he can get his hands on. He is extremely bright and smiley! He is so generous with his affection and is one of our star cuddlers. I don't want to call him the leader of the trio, I think it's a little early to make such defining statements. But, he does get followed around a lot. Not because I think he's the leader, but because he is so focused when he plays. He always has such a purpose. Or at least it looks like that to the others. So they follow him to see what exciting corner of the house he is headed to.

Our true cowardly lion at our family Halloween party. He was very shy and clung to dad.

I can say with confidence that Christian is my best eater. He eats (with hearty gusto) whatever I put on a spoon and give to him. Spinach, beets, oatmeal, turkey and carrots, black bean dip, cauliflower, avacado, pears, apples, bananas, all kinds of squash, green beans, ANYTHING! It's nice. He makes me want to get real interesting with our food choices just to test him. When he is unhappy, he can really get that bottom lip out. He has a bit of a flare for the dramatic and I have NO idea where he would get that from. He is a happy, happy baby and makes each day such an adventure.

10 Months Part Deux

Our Little Miss. Sunny is 14 lbs 9 oz and 17.25 inches long. She is still rocking 3-6 month clothes and looks unnatural when she is standing up on something because she is so tiny! She is the fastest commando crawler I've ever seen. Despite my daily efforts on trying to get her on her knees (I promise all my OT friends, I'm trying!) she insists on scooting along like she is on a reconnaissance mission. When I do try and remind her to get on her knees by actually doing it for her, she patiently rests her head on the floor and waits until I will give up holding her little stems. Then when I do, she merrily goes on her way through the jungle. So true to her attitude she's had since BIRTH, she will do it when she is ready and not a second before.

Nos Chiquita Mono

She loves her daddy so much. The smile she gives him when he comes home from work makes her dad feel like the king of the castle. And it is only his special Sunshine smile. I am not jealous in the slightest, because I love seeing her dad too. I know exactly how she feels. She loves to talk and is fond of the da da sound (of course). Some of her favorite foods are bananas, applesauce, beets and most recently, black beans! Most of the other foods I have given her she has been less than enthusiastic. But she is polite and just sort of ignores the spoon when it comes around (but I always find a way in) instead of making faces like her brothers do with some things. She is such a little social bug and loves loves new faces and making a zipping crawl for the door whenever she hears it open with new guests.

Not so sure about the family Halloween Party.

Our little girl is no shrinking violet. I'm not worried one bit she will be lost between the shadows of two brothers. She has a strong voice, opinion and way of letting you know what she wants. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of how smart and stubborn she really is and sort of scares me. Sort of. But come what may. We already love it.

10 Months or SERIOUSLY!?

Are we really two months away from a year birthday? You cannot be serious! (Say last sentence like you played professional tennis in the 80's and had funky curly hair.) Well it's true. In celebration of wondering how my babies got so big so quick, I have some stats and noticings of the darlings. (And zoo pictures from Halloween!)

Gabe is 14 pounds 8 ounces. He is 26.5 inches and has a large noggin. He is crawling like an efficient machine. One morning (Oct. 23rd) he woke up and decided it was time to crawl. He had the most unique method at first. Have you seen those little mechanical dogs that bark and walk? He was so precise with his hands and knees. I LOVED watching him. Now he is smooth and quick as a little mongoose! (Mom's days of 2 minute potty breaks are over.)

Our little tiger.

He may be little but he can m.o.v.e. He loves squash, beets and bananas and is excited about learning to use a sippy cup. So far he just kind of bangs it on the side of his chair and looks quite pleased with himself. He hates spinach, avacadoes and green beans. His laugh is magic when I tickle his tiny ribs. He is my number one groupie when it comes to cheesy songs by mom. I can always get his attention when I start one of my clapping or spider songs. He just started pulling himself on things half his height. He is a big talker with his favorite sound being the ga and go sound. He has two teeth poking through his bottom gums. He is my best sleeper and loves being held.

Other two animal updates to come...
